Two months Michaels has been on this case now.
He shifts uncomfortably in the car seat, now going on 8 hours. It is past 3am.
The Client: a Mr. Gerald Watkins, high-powered criminal defense lawyer with no time for friends, family, for anything but himself. He's a first-class, type-A workaholic but has hired Michaels because he suspects his wife's infidelity. He's right; only not in the way Watkins would imagine.
The Mrs. - Samantha Watkins - is an introverted trophy wife without many friends. And in a big city like San Francisco, it's easy to feel lonely when everyone else seems like they've somewhere to go or something to do. David has followed her around for two months now and has seen the wild side of Mrs. Watkins; as the saying goes, "while the cat's away…"
Though it's only a recent transformation for Samantha, as far as Michaels can tell. Brought on by Mr. Watkins' extended periods away from home on the job, and her convenient meeting of, Angela Walker. "Angel" as she goes by, was once a high-priced call girl. She's also a mutant, beautiful but dangerous, with powerful pheromones that strangely affect other women.
David's found that Angel has a history of using these powers to make women 'fall in love' with her. Once she's 'in', she manipulates them, breaks marriages, breaks families. Then, she moves in on the vulnerable partner, usually a wealthy business man who, bites her seductions, hook line and sinker.
Within months, Angel's dumped the Mrs. and is in blossoming new a relationship. Within six months there's a marriage. Within a year, a mysterious death of her rich spouse, who's conveniently amended their will leaving everything to her. Then the cycle continues.
Michaels has been on stake out with more than enough evidence for Mr. Watkins, but he's thorough and will document one more night, setting up surveillance of the Watkins property in affluent Pacific Heights, from his car a half block away.
Gerald is out of town a few days and sure enough, Angel arrived shortly after 9pm. They share dinner, wine, then an erotic evening together, Angel and the Mrs. The cameras and mics David hid in their home last month, when he 'serviced the digital cable problems' dressed as a repairman, capture every carnal moment in detail. He feels sorry for Mrs. Watkins. She seems to be genuine, innocent, and has found so much bliss in Angel's friendship; if she only knew her lover's chess game of playing her like a fiddle.
From the video cameras recording, the two are now fast asleep in each other's embrace. At least they have that, for now anyway. Michaels thinks to himself, this will be a clear and shut case once he presents the evidence to Mr. Watkins; what happens between the couple, who's to say. Most likely divorce. But he'll get paid, and Watkins will be tipped off to Angel, so at least she won't get her payoff.
That's when David notices the taxi pull up in front of the house; a large man in a trench coat with a travel-sized shoulder bag gets out, tips the driver and heads for the entrance. It's Mr. Watkins. He's arrived early. He fumbles with keys for a second, then let's himself inside.
Things just got messy.
(ooc: alright, you're on gray stone! You can post in this thread what you're next move is going to be. It'll be that way until you cross other players, but for now… you're on your own!)
