Seeing the look of terror in his young friend's eyes as she helplessly struggles for her life, fire ignites in Toby's own. With perfection annunciation and inflection, his words summon a volley of bright blue orbs that swirl momentarily around his person, then launch in a flash like missiles slamming into the swaying arachnid eagerly reeling in its prey! ooc: like AD&D's "Magic Missile", I'm ruling that the Eldritch bolts are auto-hit (like guided missiles basically); the difficulty is in the actual conjuring (which also determines Hit/Bulleye/Stun effect on the Force category), plus the target gets as a Psyche FEAT v. the intensity to resist... in this case however, the creature has FB Psyche and Toby's Eldritch Bolt is EX which is more than 3 ranks -- the effects of the bolt are automatic!!!
The spider let's out an eerie, "ggGGGGREEEEAAKAKAKAAKAakaka!!!" as the bolts of magic find their mark, making the creature recoil with each impact (EX 16 magic dmg inflicted)

Rosa screams turning her head to glance back and for the first time, see what is waiting for her. "TOOBYYYY!!"

The large arachnid has Rosa completely off balance, dragging her just 5 meters away and towards two black, sharp, dagger-sized fangs, slick and oily looking from a green-hued liquid...
(simultaneously an amulet is touched, a magic incantation word spoken)
FIRE and sparks begin to swirl and spin from the Godfire, which glows hot orange, like a piece of metal drawn from hot coals; yet Toby's hand does not burn. Instead, it is replaced, by that of a man's... a glowing man's, the large, powerful hand of.... THE TORCH!!!
His burly, muscular figure erupts onto the scene, strong and stoic where once an adolescent boy stood. His presence instantly illuminates the surrounding area in bright, orange-white light -- the light that penetrates all darkness, the light of hope!
ooc: Torch's transformation normally takes one full round, then it would take a moment for Torch to assess the situation and take appropriate action; i'm gonna rule that he can still try to Charge the creature (1 area) this round, but must first make a Yellow Agility FEAT (as a Change action), then if successful the Charge attempt would be at -1CS (canceling out the +1CS per area bonus to-hit).
If he fails the initial Yellow Agility (Torch's not Toby), then the summoning/transformation took most the round and he cannot take any other effective actions this round.

ooc: okay, I thought there were a few options; but after doing the math again, it looks like there is only one viable one -- fail the initial Agility FEAT roll and take the minimum.
As I see from the sig, the 'Burning Bay Man' has 44 Karma remaining to access (he doesn't access Toby's as they gain/lose separately)
So 44+17 die roll = 61, JUST shy of the '66' needed for a RM Yellow FEAT result
Torch is going to fail the Agility FEAT regardless, so is better off spending only the minimum (-10 Karma). Unfortunately this means he doesn't get a Charging attack off this round but does leave him with 34 karma left still for next round - he may need it!
And he'd better hope to win initiative
But first Rosa might be able to prolong things, buying Torch just enough time…Screaming uncontrollably, Rosa tries to secure stable footing (PR Agility FEAT, needing a GoB)… [dice=100] [rand=34616140497142229426652072696251241761867675357910986353145086669]
