To a man of FIRE, the scene is apocalyptic.
The City's tall skyscrapers encased in ICE and a dark, ambient blue hue covers the land. A strong gale of snow rips through street corridors; stopped cars resemble ice cubes, a large fountain in Union Square with its jets of water frozen into pillars resembling ornate ice sculpture. Then there are the people. Captured in various poses of panic with expressions of fear permanently fixed on their blue, ice covered faces.
Hordes of blue, scaly and wiry humanoid-like creatures with pointed ears, and sharp fangs and claws begin to emerge into the streets from a large shimmering and swirling blue portal of light, running forth rampantly and wrecking havoc with medieval-style weaponry. The most devastating stand 7-8 feet tall; large, hulking, armor-coated creatures who swing large battle maces at the frozen crowds, shattering them like broken glass sculptures.
("Hey…")
Badly wounded and exhausted down on his hands and knees, Torch struggles to lift his head to look up helplessly, his flame but a flickering shadow of its former glory, like a candle on it's last leg, Coit Tower stands before him, a once-lovely construct, now covered with jagged icicle spikes and seemingly lit from below by a strange pulsating blue aura.
("Toby…")
At the tower's apex, bellowing dark laughter can be heard over the gale winds that blow through Torch, threatening to snuff out his existence. A lone figure proudly stands at the Tower/fortress roof top -- long, flowing white robes, a glowing-tipped white staff in hand, long bleach-white hair and beard blowing in the winds, unnatural blue-ish light radiating from his eyes and mouth as he stretches his arms out widely to the sky triumphantly (think 'Saruman' from the LotR movies, only very pale, blue-skinned, black-lipped, like a corpse found in the snow)
("Toby, wake up.")
Blood trickles down Torch's wounds, freezing like icicles, the flames have nearly left him except for a wisp of fire from his head and burning in his eyes; it is mostly steam rising from his flesh now. A dark voice bellows from the man high above, unnaturally louder than the storm winds.
"IT IS DONE, OLD NEMESIS!
AND NOW, YOUR TIME HAS COME… TO DIIIE!!!"
He extends the staff at his weakened foe, launching forth a powerful blizzard of epic fury, and Torch's body locks solid in pure ice, then shatters into oblivion…
"TOBY!"
Toby gasps and awakens violently, drenched in sweat and shocked by a familiar man sitting on the bed next to him, shaking him awake. But panic and fear have seized him…
(OOC: Okay, we've officially begun! Give me a Pysche FEAT check; the nightmare has rattled Toby to his core and startled by Adam, he has to resist from uttering an Eldritch bolt against him!)

OOC: Thx and D'OH!! Lol the nightmare definitely shook the kid bad
Toby's eyes flash brightly as he instinctively, almost sub-consciously rips a one-syllable incantation, unleashing an Eldritch bolt on Adam, nailing him square in the chest!
The roll was just to see if Toby kept his cool/bearings (which he didn't); normally there'd be a 'To-Hit' roll when using Eldritch bolt (Psyche or Agility rank I think; l have to double check), but as Adam's right inches from him and completely not expecting a thing, I'm ruling this an auto-hit!
As I understanding it, Adam is allowed a Psyche FEAT v. EX to resist the bolt's effect… Adam's Psyche is TY (within 3 ranks so not 'Automatic')
Adam's roll to see if he resists (he'll need a Red result on TY lol):

OOC: OH SNAP! lol almost... but no cigar for Adam
"YEEEAAAAAraaarrrgghh!!"
* CRAAASH! *
Adam goes flying off and smashes into wall behind him then crashes to the floor, Eldritch wisps rising from his body. (Because of the slight familiarity he noticed coming out of dream state, he held back a little, inflicting GD 10 pts Force dmg; nothing extra from the wall since it wasn't a true slam result)
Adam Health: 32-10 = 22
OOC: wild start lol

Adam crumpled on the floor, slowly starts to stir, an imprint of his back cracked through the sheet rock wall. "Wh.. wha.. the.. heck… Tobe?" Toby helps him to the bed as he catches his breath, protecting his ribs with one arm. "I'll… be okay… I don't think… anything's broken. That must've been... some nightmare, kid. I heard you from across the hall. You were screaming out some really strange things and definitely not… having a good time. I tried to wake you... but maybe next time I'll just call from the door." You look up at the cracked wall, then turn to look out the large bay window overlooking the SF silhouette below. It's night, yet the city is filled with a million flickering lights. This is the majestic view from the Mandarin Hotel's Imperial suites. Ironically and eerily, in the far distance, the Coit Tower can be seen, merely the size of a candle from this vantage point. Looking at the clock, it is 3:34am.

" Enemy?" Toby thinks to himself...as he walks to the window to look out at the city. He imagines it infested with the monsters from his nightmare and finds himself clutching his amulet. Toby then asks Adam " up for a drive to Coit Tower?"

Adam gives you a puzzled look. "Toby, It's..." he says glancing at an ornate clock hanging on the wall.
"... three thirty in the morning, and I feel like I've just been hit by a sledge hammer... I'll call down for the Rolls (Royce) if you insist, but you've gotta tell me what's going on. You've been having thse night terrors for a few weeks now and this is by far the worse one yet."
He's right.
The visions have been reoccurring more frequently and have steadily grown more intense, more vivid, more... real. Though you've a few years training from your late foster father, Burton West, who taught you to be strong of mind, who taught you not to fear the darkness - but become it, embrace it - to your young and impressionable mind? Such dark things still are frightening to the core. You wonder in your heart, if you'll ever be as brave as Adam, the man looking at you with a bewildered expression.
Unable to say a word and feeling your eyes beginning to water up, Adam sees your anguished, confused expression, and takes you off the hook.
"Look," he says stretching his neck as if to get the kinks out, "I'll call down for the car, we'll take a drive if it'll help to take some air. It'll be morning in the few hours anyway, and we can take some crepes or something. I think Donovan's coming by around noon to talk some financial mumbo jumbo, then we're heading off to the East Bay to check out that gallery in Alameda in the afternoon."
You sit silently in the passenger seat, staring out the window at the motley attractions that make San Francisco. You've tried riding in the large and plush rear seats once, but hated being back there alone. Since then you've always preferred to sit up front with Adam.
Everything is foreign to you in the city, everything seems so busy, like it's all competing for your attention. It is both fascinating and intimidating, compared to the more quite, exclusive neighborhood of Saint Francis Woods.
Even at this quiet, early hour it feels a little overwhelming being here. But then, for a split moment you have visions of a large green park and blue skys on a warm day; a young couple, a picnic basket; laughter, true bliss of being carried on the shoulders of a young proud, man; your real parents, your real father. Those are the visions you wish more of; alas its merely a flash and is gone.
"Toby c'mon," Adam says with one black-gloved hand on the wheel, another holding a small cup of freshly-squeezed orange juice. "Drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold," you listen and take a sip.
Adam shifts uncomfortably in the driving seat, still wincing a little in pain.
"That was some hit you put on me back there earlier... what was that?"

I was confused..reacting to a nightmare ..I or..the Torch had..it all seemed so real. I saw someone who seems to know and HATE the Torch but I didn't know had a life before me. It makes sense... someone else could have used the amulet to become the Torch before me...I just never thought about it.
I didn't know I could have his dreams.
He... the being that hates me..stood on Coit Tower and had an army of creatures..and fought with icy cold..and ..the Torch was alone and wounded...
That is why I wanted to look around maybe it was a dream..but maybe there is something going on with the Tower?

"Hmmm…" Adam takes a sip of O.J. and continues navigating the quiet but well lit streets. "Not sure what to say about that. I mean we really don't know the much about the history of that amulet you wear, nor the man it summons. If you can call a glowing, fiery being a man." Just ahead you spot the Coit Tower, which in this light is rather majestic and nothing like the terrible visions of your dreams. You continue on in silence eventually reaching side streets close to the bottom of the illuminated pillar. "It's not open til 10am… did you want to look around for a bit?" A reluctant nod, and both you and Adam exit the Rolls, into the chilly morning air. A flight of narrow winding stairs surrounded on both sides by a line of thick shrubs leads up to a flat near the tower base. As you ascend with Adam leading, and reach roughly halfway, you hear a faint rustling rustling come from the brush behind you. Alarmed you turn quickly, peering into the semi-darkness below… (OOC: gimme an Intuition check!)
